One sake bomb date dash, one chill night with friends, one day of baking and domestic autumn festivities with my sisters, one annual fraternity Boo Bash, and an entire day of homework later, I’m alive…. and prepared for actual Halloween! Here’s a little weekend in pictures recap… lots of DIYs and recipes to come this week! (Oh ps… It’s homecoming week which means an entire 7 days of mixers, date dashes, dinner exchanges, and football- can’t wait to share it all with you!!)

How was your weekend? What did you do? What are your Halloween plans??
One of my absolute favorite things about fall is college football. Growing up in Texas, it’s hard not to love the greatest game on earth. In fact, I was even a varsity cheerleader all throughout high school. Although I’m not cheering in college, (and miss it every day!) I have a season pass to the Zona Zoo- what we call our student cheering section. After 3 long weeks of away games, we finally had a home game this past Thursday. Even though it was an awkward night for a game, I’m so glad I went. Not only did we blow UCLA out of the water after a not-so-hot streak, but the game was made even more entertaining when a student, disguised as an official PAC-12 referee, made it on to the field in the middle of a play and proceeded to rip off his uniform and streak across the field. While he was being tackled and tasered, all members of both the Arizona and UCLA football teams left the benches to participate in a full on fist fight which led to several players getting ejected. (Okay, so… sportsmanship isn’t our thing. You can’t win’em all.) Are y’all college football fans? Who do you root for?
This weekend, my sorority threw a Royal Wedding Semi-Formal Soiree! I had a great time with all my sisters, and I had a very difficult time taking my tiara off- it was a perfect fit! Here are a few photos from us getting ready for the date dash:
My camera wasn’t charged unfortunately but hopefully a few more will pop up as people tag pics on Facebook. My dress is Love Culture, shoes are Vince Camuto, and the tiara is Charming Charlie :) Happy Monday! Continue reading
*Did you know that titles can’t be copyrighted under U.S. copyright laws? Interesting fact I learned in my Producing I class this semester.
But I digress… Speaking of copyright, here are a few truly really awesome videos about copyright, fair use, and how everything we do is influenced by something else. If you have some spare time or happen to be a media nerd like me, I’m sure you’ll definitely enjoy them. If you enjoy classic rock or movies, I promise the videos are worthwhile! Afterward, I strongly encourage you to watch “100 years of fashion” to see how the remixing idea is applied to textile trends. And then I just for fun I also included an artistic video of a disappearing ferris wheel. I guess you could say I’ve been on a video spree recently. Enjoy!
and…. I was also turned on to this little gem recently, a must watch for anyone who’s a procrastinator and fashion lover, so artsy and hilarious!
It seems like I start every post with an apology recently, but I feel so guilty and neglectful whenever I fail to update my blog in a timely manner. School really is kicking my butt this semester. But all of a sudden I looked around and realized it was October. And that means Halloween! And costumes, and candy!! So the great debate, of course, is what am I going to be….. I’m not trying to spend a gazillion dollars this month, so here are some ideas I’m considering from shopping my own closet:
All you need to be a fabulous kitten is a pair of black leggings, black top, black ballet flats, and some ears! I think black fingerless gloves would give this idea some extra meow!
I’m thinking a pretty turquoise t-shirt dress from american apparel and some strategically crafted peacock feathers would make for one cute bird.
Just add red lipstick and a black tank top, lace skirt, pearls, fishnets, and feathers are all you need to dance away the night at a speakeasy. Jazz and bootleggers optional.
What other costumes are easy to create with existing pieces? What are you going to be for Halloween? I’m always on the lookout for more ideas!
