No matter how hard I try, I just can’t fall in love with TOMS shoes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of their mission and business ethics, but the product itself is just flat out uncomfortable, and a little overpriced for a canvas shoe in my opinion. Due to my small yet wide foot, I’m already returning the adorable pair of wedges I mentioned here. I love the simple style of the shoes though, so when I stumbled upon Soludos, I knew I had potentially found my solution. I’m particularly obsessed with the gorgeous ikat options, faded shibori patterns, and the perfectly hued solids! With most pairs under $40, I might have to try them out for myself… Have you ever tried them before? I would love to hear from someone who has a pair! Which color should I get?
The last 2 weeks have been quite a whirlwind and I’ve missed blogging so much! This is just a quick little morning update to say new posts and a TON OF GIVEAWAYS are coming soon!!! I’m busy this week trying to learn the names of our 87 new members, but in the meantime, I just wanted to let you know about a huge sale going on right now that has caught my eye :) The Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer Sale. It’s online only through Friday, and they literally have over 100 Lilly dresses on sale for under $100!!! They even have shoes, jewelry, accessories, and home goods on sale too. These in particular are on my radar:
The Lilly Pulitzer Jeanie Dress was originally $278, now down to just $64! It’s the perfect Fall transition piece in my opinion.
Umm the Lilly Pulitzer Joycee Tunic is down to $29. Need I say more??
And let’s not even get started on accessories…. From adorable LP ice buckets to tumblers, belts, bracelets, shoes, earrings, and stationary, almost everything is under $30. Is there anything from the Summer Sale you have your eye on? Self control is a beezy if I do say so myself…. Happy Hump Day!
Forgive me for being MIA lately as I’m in the midst of work week, preparing to be a Recruitment Counselor for my very last formal fall recruitment as a collegiate sorority member at the University of Arizona. It’s bittersweet, and although I’m already tired and exhausted (even though the potential new members don’t even get here until Sunday), I know it will be worth it in the end when every woman receives the bid to her future sisterhood. I remember it as being a crazy, fun, and emotional time when I was a freshman, and I’m looking forward to helping other young ladies have the same amazing experience that I have had over the past three years.
With that being said, it’s almost impossible to explain the hard work and energy that goes into Formal Panhellenic Recruitment. I’m not even going to try… but just trust me that for the next 10 days I will be waking up at 5:30am, going to sleep well after midnight, and loving every second of it as long as I can figure out how to get a Starbucks IV drip attached to me at all times. Did I mention I’ll be spending extensive periods of time outside where it’s likely to be around 110°?
Anyway, my point is, I will be very busy enjoying real life and won’t be able to contribute to Love a la mode until school starts on the 2oth. But when it does, I have tons of amazing giveaways and new sponsors coming up! WOOHOOO! Big things are happening ’round these parts that I can’t wait to share them with you! Until then, have a happy August and good luck to all the women out there preparing for recruitment :)
Panhellenic love y’all,
Sorry for the lack of posts this week, everyone at my office keeps getting sick and I have been working so much and trying to get the most out of the last week of my internship. This summer has flown by so fast and I can’t believe it’s already time for me to head back to Tucson this weekend for my senior year. I’m completely in denial. Here are some random things I wanted to share with you about what I’ve been up to lately!
The Senior VP in my department suggested that I read this before I graduate. It sounds really interesting and I can’t wait to start it!
I also ordered the Cupcakes & Cashmere book and I can’t wait to flip through all the glossy, colorful pages :)
And after they were temporarily sold out in my size literally everywhere, I finally managed to find the TOMS Sierra wedges I wanted online. They are waiting for me at my house in Tucson and I can’t wait to try them on when I get there on Saturday!
I made my first Gilt Group purchase the other day! Gilt is one of many flash sale websites that offers designer merchandise at a steep discount for a limited time. Some of my other favorites to browse are Hautelook and Rue La La. I walked away with this gorgeous pair of House of Harlow 1960 black crescent earrings for just $20. #Winning
Can’t wait to style all these goodies and I’ll let you know how the books are. What have you been reading lately? Any recent splurges?
