OOTD: Marley Lilly Review + Sale!

30 Mar

IMG_0114Marley Lilly Envelope Clutch | Sugar Lips Tank | Lucky Brand Maxi

Marc Jacobs Watch | Wrap Bracelet (similar)

A few weeks ago Marley Lilly graciously sent me this monogrammed envelope clutch because I am a Sumpto influencer. I’m absolutely in love with it and couldn’t wait to style it for Spring :) Even better, this fabulous bag is on sale this weekend for only $26.99, which is $10 off the normal price! They come in a jillion different colors so I’m really tempted to get the coral or the mint. Are you a Marley Lilly fan? What do you think of the envelope clutch? Should I invest in another color? I would love your advice!

OOTD: Tunic Tuesday!

31 Jul

Tory Burch ‘Iveta’ tunic via Nordstrom Rack, Express white skinnies, gold ring and earrings c/o Grandma’s closet.

This Tory Burch tunic was originally over $500, so when I saw it in my size at Nordstrom Rack for just $98 I knew it was the perfect investment piece. It goes perfectly with my fave white skinny jeans, and I know the sequined silk will transition easily into Fall. Even though red is my favorite color, the print is definitely loud and out of my comfort zone, but I’m liking the ikat inspired vibe. Throw in some disco music and I feel like I’ve been transported to the 1970s! In a good way, that is. What do you think? Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!

OOTD: Black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow…

24 Jul

Express cardigan (similar Banana Republic), Sugar Lips tank, Pastel yellow F21 skinnies (Only $15.80!!), Fossil belt, Kate Spade bangleMarc Jacobs watch, Sam Edelman sandals.

Post title courtesy of Wiz Khalifa himself. I’m sure this outfit was exactly what he had in my mind when he penned that catchy tune, eh? It was either going to be those lyrics or “And These Are My Banana Pants,” a logical follow-up to my ever popular outfit post These Are My Red Pants. I guess you could say I might have an obsession with colored denim. Oh well… there are worse things to be addicted to, right? Like The Bachelor shopping. Or chocolate. Wait a minute, who said those were bad things?

OOTD: These are my red pants.

12 Jul

 J. Crew Factory denim button down, Fire red skinny jeans via Nordstrom Rack (Fire’s other colors, $42, and similar red Free People, $68), vintage gold Whiting & Davis belt (similar Lilly Pulitzer, $48), monogram necklace (similar), Marc Jacobs watch, Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals in rose gold.

These are my red pants. They also happen to be my favorite pants. I paired them with a denim button down and vintage gold chain mail belt for a little twist on the red/white/blue look. In my opinion, red/denim/gold is just as patriotic and a tad more flattering for us pale folk. This is just one of those simple outfits that always looks flattering and makes me feel great. Definitely a great go-to whenever I need a confidence boost! Do you have an outfit that always makes you feel more confident than usual? How do you dress when you need to brighten your mood?

P.S. Completely coincidentally to choosing my fave outfit, it just happened to also be a great hair day. That always helps too… Funny how these things work out when you least expect it :)

OOTD: Ruffles and Bows

10 Jul

Old H&M peach top (BCBG similar), Rock & Republic skinnies via Off Saks Fifth (Levi’s similar), monogram necklace (similar), Marc Jacobs watch, black Kate Spade bangle. Not pictured: Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals.

I bought this top on a random H&M spree while I was interning in L.A. last summer, back before coral became the new peach. I absolutely adore this sweet combination of soft ruffles paired with a demure bow, and I love how well it colorblocks with black. It really makes my favorite Kate Spade bangle pop :) My hair was being very unruly so I put it up in a messy bun and showcased a new pair of pearl studs. Sweet and classy, just like I like it.

How do you like it?

P.S. Why all the “similar” clothing options? Because just like a “normal person,” when I buy clothing I like I tend to wear it for longer than just one season. Sometimes I’m unable to link to the exact product I’m wearing because it simply isn’t available anymore. But I always look for items that are not only similar, but also affordable so you can try to recreate the style for yourself. Cheers all around!

OOTD: earning my stripes

6 Jul

Joe’s Jeans via Loehmann’s,  Sugar Lips tank, Madewell cardigan (current version),  monogram necklace (similar), Marc Jacobs watch, Sam Edelman sandals.

Because of the midweek holiday, work is a bit more on the casual side this week. I absolutely adore this striped cardi, which is not only ultra soft, but the very first thing I ever purchased from Madewell when it first opened in Austin when I was in high school. I scored a great deal on these Joe’s Jeans (Women’s Petite Bootcut “The Provocateur” in Betty) at Loehmann’s when I was in L.A. last summer, and am definitely planning a trip back ASAP. For the 4th, my lovely parents flew in from Texas and are here to spend a week with me. It was a great time just spending a low key day with them :) I can’t believe I go back to school in 4 weeks– this summer is flying!! What did you do for the holiday?

P.S. The exact pair of Joe’s Jeans I’m wearing (which might actually be my favorite ever in the history of the planet in both fit and feel) is currently on sale at Nordstrom’s for under $100!! I may just have to snag another pair!!! #sorrynotsorry

OOTD: mellow yellow

3 Jul

Juicy Couture sundress, Cynthia Rowley tote, Sam Edelman sandalsKate Spade bangle,  Marc Jacobs watch.

This yellow floral sundress is the perfect distraction from a rather slow week at work! I also especially adore this gold Cynthia Rowley tote which I scored an awesome deal on at T.J. Maxx over spring break. It always makes getting ready for work exciting :) The neighbors and their kids were out on the balcony again, so I chickened out and attempted some indoor footage. Not too terrible if I do say so myself… What are you doing for the holiday week??
